City of Victor Announces 4th of July Event Cancellation
After much deliberation, the City of Victor has announced that the 2020 4th of July events have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. After considering the event size, the density of the crowd, and there not being an effective way to reduce attendance such that physical distancing could be achieved, the Victor City Council made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.
Victor’s annual 4th of July celebration includes a fun run, flag ceremony, community breakfast and lunch, craft fair, and parade hosted by the City in conjunction with local non-profits. The festivities are attended by thousands upon thousands of spectators each year. Mayor Frohlich said, “The draw of Victor’s 4th of July celebration is one of the largest in the valley each year. Sadly, that makes the risk for community transmission too high. Already, we look forward to next year’s 4th of July. If we remain strong and united, act responsibly, we will continue to beat this virus and get back to a sense of normalcy.”
