I grew up in Massachusetts and in 2001 graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in psychology. Upon graduating I joined a wildland firefighting crew and found myself on the Green Knoll fire in Jackson, Wyoming. I was touched by the community's generosity and kindness and fell in love with the mountains.

It was an easy decision to settle in the West. Looking for a way to give back to the community I started working at the Van Vleck House, a group home for teenagers. Within two years, I was promoted to manager and charged with the task of opening our new tri-county crisis shelter. I still hold this position today.

Additionally, I've been able to use the skills I developed as a World Cup competitor on the US archery-biathlon team to coach the high school nordic ski team. I have coached the team for seven years, the last four of which we have won both the boys and girls state titles. In 2006, I purchased a house in downtown Victor because I liked the quality of life on this side of the Tetons. In Victor I am able to enjoy taking care of my chickens, working on my home, road biking, paragliding, and powder skiing.
