Press Release: City of Victor Conducts Water and Sewer Fee Analysis

Victor Idaho, September 1, 2017 – The City of Victor owns, operates, and maintains both the water and sewer systems that serve Victor’s residents.  Due to increasing costs to maintain the two systems, the City has conducted both a Water Fee Analysis and Sewer Fee Analysis.

Water services are billed through seasonal summer and winter rates.  The summer seasonal rate comprises of a base rate in addition to a tiered usage rate while the winter seasonal rate comprises of a base rate for the first 33,000 gallons used, an amount rarely surpassed.  The water analysis recommends a $0.49 increase to the monthly summer base water rate from $42.88 to $43.37 plus a one cent increase to the first tier for 0- 7,000 gallons used from $1.45 per 1,000 gallons to $1.46 per 1,000 gallons.  It goes on to recommend a $0.67 decrease in the winter water usage rate from $52.80 to $52.13.

The sewer analysis recommends that the monthly rate increase from $42.91 to $47.49, for a total increase of $4.58 per month.

The analyses will be first presented to City Council for its consideration during the September 13th meeting ahead of the public hearing on October 11th.  Both meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M. at Victor City Hall located at 32 Elm Street and public comment will be taken.  As always, the City of Victor welcomes and encourages all public comment.  Please submit comments in writing to Victor City Hall, PO Box 122, Victor ID 83455 or by fax, 208-787-2357.  Public comment may also be emailed to oliviag@victorcityidaho.com
