Land Use Map
Planning for timely and economical expansion of public facilities and infrastructure is one of the most important tasks of local government. To this end, the Local Land Use Planning Act allows cities and counties to establish Future Land Use Maps, which proposes land to be used in the future (10-20 year horizion) for residential, commercial, agriculture, civic, parks and open spaces, and industrial.
The Future Land Use Map may be amended as needed. Factors that necessitate changes to the plan are growth, changing conditions, and various decisions made by the council over time.
